Remove the cap and attach a new lens filter to the Braun ThermoScan. Turn it on, insert the probe into the ear canal toward the eardrum, and press the button. Wait for the beep to see the reading, then eject and discard the lens filter.

Always use a new, clean lens filter. The thermometer will blink if one is needed. Push the probe straight into a new filter in the box to attach it. Eject the used filter (or pull it off for models without an eject button) before each new measurement.
